How to customize Send To menu?

How to customize Send To menu?
What is Send To menu?
First of all you must know about Send To menu. When you right click on any file or folder in Microsoft Windows XP. You can see Send To sub menu on Context Menu.

You can see some default shortcuts in Send To like My Documents, Compress (zip) folder, Mail Recipient, CD Drive, Desktop etc. I want to add D: Drive shortcut in this Send To Menu.

Here are some steps you have to follow to add new short cut of D: Drive in Sent To Menu.
  • Open Run Command from Start Menu (Shortcut: WindowsButton + R)
  • Type %homepath%SendTo and press enter
After this a Send To folder will open you can create new short cut in this folder.
Right click in Folder space and click on New -> Shortcut and type this command D: (Do not click on Browse button).
Click on Next Button
Type your shortcut description My D Drive and click on Finish button

That's all. You have finished the process. Now you can see your created short cut in Send To menu.

You can create any short cut in your Send To Menu like this. I just explained about a short cut of a D: drive.

How can you connect to remote computer using Remote Desktop?
Remote Desktop is a great feature of Microsoft Windows XP. Remote Desktop feature and Remote Desktop Client are built-in available in Microsoft Windows XP.

You can connect your Windows XP computer using Remote Desktop feature. You have to connect your target computer to the internet and you have to enable Remote Desktop feature.

How to enable Remote Desktop?
If you want to connect your computer via Remote Desktop then you have to enable this feature. Here are few steps for enabling Remote Desktop.
  • Right click on My Computer and Click on Properties.
  • Click on Remote Tab.
  • Enable option [Allow users to connect remotely to this computer].
After enabling option above your computer is ready to connect via Remote Desktop. You can operate this computer from any where in the world using internet and Remote Desktop Client.

How we can use Remote Desktop Connection software?
Microsoft Windows XP has built-in Remote Desktop Client. If you are using Windows 9x or Windows 2000 then you have to download Remote Desktop Connection software from here.

After loading this software type IP address or domain name of Remote Computer where Remote Desktop is enabled and click on Connection button. After creating successful connection you need user name and password of remote desktop. Remember that your remote user name must have password. I mean users without passwords will not work on Remote Desktop connection.

How to manage startup or booting applications?

Microsoft Windows use different places for booting processes and application. Microsoft Windows use Windows Registry, Boot.ini and Start up Menu for booting or start up applications.
To manage all start up applications is not an easy task but I will tell you an easy task. Microsoft Windows has built in utility for managing start up applications.Open Run Command, type msconfig and press enter. System Configuration Utility will load.

Note: Microsoft Windows 2000 does not support this utility.
After loading this utility click on Startup tab and manage all starting applications. If you want to disable any startup process then un check that process and click OK.

Windows will ask to reboot Windows. You can reboot your Windows.
